 BioVisible operates an analytical service laboratory where microbiological samples are
analysed at high speed (within 2 to 48 hours). BioVisible is able to install the basic
machinery and products used at your laboratory, thus presenting you with the opportunity
to perform the analyses in-house. All analyses have been thoroughly tested by
BioVisible's own R&D Laboratory.

All tests are performed by Highly Qualified Personnel
All analyses are completed within 48 hours after sample
submission. Easy-to-read Analysis Reports ensure clear understanding of the results. When
requested, results can be filed by electronic mail.
Currently offers four
distinct services:

Bacterial Isolate Identification
by 16S rDNA Sequence Analysis. Identification of the species based on ribosomal RNA gene
sequence determination.

Mixed population analysis.
Temperature Gradient Gel Electrophoresis (TGGE) based ribosomal gene profile analysis of
mixed microbial populations for mixed community fingerprinting and population dynamics;

Exact enumeration by Fluorescence
in-situ hybridisation (FISH). FISH with DNA-probes to enumerate specific bacteria is
faster and more reliable than cultivation.

Real Time-PCR analysis. To
demonstrate/verify the presence of specific (pathogenic) bacteria present in very low
numbers in a sample.
Intestinal microflora
The intestinal
microflora is a complex ecosystem containing over 400 bacterial
species. This microflora is essential for our health and
well-being. Antibiotics,
stress and unhealthy eating habits can have dramatic
effects. Therefore exact
knowledge of the composition and nature of this
intestinal microflora is of
great importance. Applications can be found in the field
of functional foods
and feeds as well as in the field of the pharmaceutical industry to
study the effect of newly developed drugs on intestinal
flora.
Water
BioVisible is running a modern water laboratory which
is dedicated to
analyse a variety of bacteria (e.g. Legionella in
water for industrial as well as
domestic use).
The First Alert System Technology
service is based on two
technologies:

Conventional culturing according to the Dutch NEN6265
regulation
-
Ribotechnologies® QuickScan, a very rapid
and advanced molecular screening and identification
technique
After the isolation from water, Legionella group
and Legionella pneumophila
ssp. pneumophila can be detected and identified
within 1 hour using Q-PCR.
The test is sensitive <50 cfu / l, very fast,
quantitative and multiplex.
